Introducing Hannah Gulland’s new exhibition
Views From Here
An exhibition exploring painting as a source of replenishment, particularly in the modern age, reconnecting office spaces with nature’s harmony by Hannah Gulland.
The exhibition explores how losing ourselves in a view can slow time and expand our minds by grounding us in the present. Through painted portals, we are invited to breathe with our surroundings, discovering our capacity for deeper perception and how this interacts with the ordinary, often empty, office space.
Hannah’s work considers a view as a reflection of the mind. Using meditation as a means to access a tranquil state, she paints from a place of stillness, often guided by the rhythmic force of music.
With a focus on oil techniques such as Chiaroscuro, Sfumato, and underpaintng, combined with spray paint, Hannah navigates the interplay of light and shadow, moving between precision and abstraction. Incorporating text and connotation as subtle clues, she constructs visual narratives that transcend earthly boundaries, revealing the mysteries of an inner universe.
Hannah connects personal feelings to the outside world, exploring how art can bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual aiming to bring the perceiver into the realm of feeling, intuition, and connection.
Views From Here examines the potential role of art in corporate settings, to balance inner and outer worlds, and reminding us of our roots through nature.
